I will keep buying this product! I gave it to my 6-year-old child, and thanks to it and children's zinc, we hardly missed any kindergarten or sports sessions—we felt "energised"! With a modest amount of zinc and good elderberry, it's so convenient! At the first signs of illness, I provide it alongside baby zinc (but at various intervals). It truly helps; my child recovers more quickly! I use it myself for a sore throat and initial symptoms. I absolutely love this vitamin and take it everywhere!

Relieved symptoms
An excellent product! I used it at the first signs of a cold, and it greatly relieved my cough and sore throat. It has a pleasant taste, making it easy to take.
Whooping cough, scientifically known as Bordetella pertussis, is a highly contagious respiratory disease characterized by severe coughing fits that can make it difficult to breathe. It usually begins with cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, and mild cough, which can escalate into intense coughing paroxysms that often conclude with a distinctive "whoop" sound as the individual tries to inhale after coughing. Although it can affect individuals of any age, it is particularly dangerous for infants and young children, as they may not have completed their vaccination series.
Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent whooping cough and typically involves a series of immunizations given during early childhood, including the DTaP vaccine. In addition to immunization, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, practicing good hygiene, and isolating infected individuals can help control outbreaks. Adults are encouraged to receive a Tdap booster to protect themselves and others, especially if they are around infants. Early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics are crucial in managing the disease and preventing its spread.
Elderberry (Sambucus) refers to a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae, comprising several species known for their small berries and traditional medicinal uses. The most commonly recognized species is the European elder, Sambucus nigra, which has been utilized in folk medicine for centuries due to its rich nutrient profile, including antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and dietary fiber. Elderberries are typically fragrant clusters of small, dark purple to black berries that are used in a variety of culinary applications, such as jams, syrups, and wine.
In recent years, elderberry has gained popularity for its potential health benefits, particularly for supporting immune health. Many people consume elderberry supplements or syrups to help alleviate symptoms of colds and flu, with some studies suggesting they may reduce the duration and severity of viral infections. However, it’s important to note that raw elderberries, as well as other parts of the elderberry plant, can be toxic if consumed in large amounts. Therefore, it's recommended to use elderberry products that are properly processed and prepared to ensure safety and efficacy.
Elderberry (Sambucus) has gained popularity for its potential immune-boosting properties and effectiveness against various respiratory illnesses. However, when it comes to whooping cough, also known as pertussis, the evidence supporting elderberry's efficacy is limited. Whooping cough is a highly contagious bacterial infection caused by Bordetella pertussis, and its treatment primarily revolves around antibiotics and supportive care rather than herbal remedies. While elderberry may help alleviate some cold and flu symptoms due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it is not a replacement for medical treatment or preventive measures like vaccination, which is crucial for avoiding whooping cough.
If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of whooping cough, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. While elderberry supplements can complement general wellness and potentially help support the immune system, they should not be relied upon as a primary treatment for serious bacterial infections like whooping cough. Always consider the importance of medical advice and current health guidelines over home remedies.
Based on user reviews, the timeframe for seeing results from this supplement for whooping cough varies among individuals. Some users reported immediate relief from cough symptoms, stating that they noticed improvements almost instantaneously, such as in the case of one reviewer whose husband's cough disappeared immediately after starting the supplement Read Review. Another user mentioned that their mother experienced significant improvement after a week of taking the elderberry lozenges Read Review.
While many users reported quick relief, others have described a slower timeline or uncertainty regarding the effectiveness of the product, suggesting that results can differ significantly. For example, one reviewer felt that their child's symptoms did not improve as expected, indicating that results may not be guaranteed for everyone Read Review. Overall, while positive results can be experienced rapidly for some, others might need a longer duration, signaling that patience is key when trying the supplement for whooping cough.
Users have reported a range of improvements in cough symptoms after using elderberry lozenges. Some individuals have experienced instant relief, such as one reviewer who noted that their husband's cough symptoms disappeared immediately after starting the supplement Read Review. Similarly, a mother indicated significant improvement for her own cough and sore throat after the first signs of a cold, describing the product as highly effective Read Review. Additionally, several parents reported notable improvements in their children's symptoms, with one mentioning that their child recovered more quickly and was able to attend kindergarten without missing sessions Read Review.
While many appreciate the soothing effect of the lozenges, anecdotal evidence suggests that results can vary significantly among users. Some reviewers have shared their mixed experiences, such as one who found no noticeable improvement in their child's cough, despite high hopes based on previous recommendations Read Review. Another user expressed disappointment, reporting that the product did not alleviate their symptoms adequately during an illness Read Review. Overall, while individual results can greatly differ, many users note that the lozenges provide valuable, often rapid relief, especially for coughs associated with colds or bronchitis.
Users have reported varying experiences when combining this supplement with others for managing whooping cough and related symptoms. Several reviewers highlighted effective combinations, particularly the pairing of the elderberry lozenges with zinc and vitamin C. For instance, one parent shared that their child benefited greatly by using the elderberry lozenges along with children's zinc, leading to quicker recovery times and minimal disruption to school and sports activities Read Review. Similarly, another user mentioned that after using the lozenges alongside zinc and vitamin C to address minor colds, their mother experienced significant symptom relief Read Review. These combinations appear to enhance the effectiveness of the remedies, particularly for younger individuals.
However, it is important to note that not all users reported success with these combinations. One reviewer expressed disappointment that despite utilizing the elderberry lozenges with the added benefits of zinc and vitamin C, their child's cough did not improve Read Review. This inconsistency suggests that while many have found a synergistic benefit in combining these supplements, individual responses can vary significantly. Therefore, it may be best for users to approach these combinations with optimism while remaining mindful of differing outcomes.
Users report a range of experiences when it comes to the appropriate dose of Elderberry Sambucus for treating cough symptoms, including those associated with whooping cough. Several reviewers highlighted that giving one lozenge per day can lead to quick symptomatic relief, especially if taken at the onset of a cough (see review Read Review). Others mentioned that children often take up to 5-6 tablets a day when unwell, indicating that higher doses may also be beneficial (see review Read Review). Meanwhile, some parents reported using the lozenges as a preventative measure before school, so frequency and dosage can vary greatly among individuals based on symptoms and age (see review Read Review).
Overall, many users emphasized the product's effectiveness in alleviating cough symptoms and supporting recovery, often pairing it with additional supplements like zinc and vitamin C for enhanced benefits. Those using it for their children noted the ease of administration due to the lozenge form, as it allows for convenient doses without the need for preparations (see review Read Review). Nonetheless, responses vary, with a minority expressing dissatisfaction, suggesting it may not be effective for everyone (see review Read Review).

I recently gave my mother some elderberry lozenges, as she had symptoms of coughing. After a week of taking them, she noticed significant improvement. For minor colds, I recommend using elderberry, zinc, and vitamin C without needing to visit a doctor.

No improvement
Don't expect miracles! I purchased this for my child after hearing excellent reviews about elderberry. Despite often falling ill, I can't find the previous echinacea we used, so I opted for sambucus. It contains more elderberry than syrup, along with zinc and vitamin C, which should aid in coughing and bolstering immunity. However, I didn't see any improvement in her cough, with and without these lozenges.

From omicron, the "ear-throat-nose" remedy didn't help much! I don't understand the rave reviews—during the omicron outbreak in our area, it didn't significantly alleviate my throat pain, and the cough lingered on. I needed stronger treatments for my runny nose. As a supplementary method for supporting the body, it might be decent, but don't expect much from it, alas.

Avoided coughing well
An excellent remedy! I give it to my child before school as a preventative measure. He reminds me to provide him with vitamins against viruses! I also used it when my throat was sore, sucking on 1-2 lozenges over three days. The irritation and pain disappeared, and I managed to avoid coughing! I even bought a few more jars. It's definitely better than some pricey pill from the drugstore! Highly recommend!!
